I’m Believing God!!

As Beth Moore is teaching us to say (and do) in our study, I AM BELIEVING GOD!!

We have hit a roadblock; it’s not good at all. The problem is with the current SDA Director and children in foster care. Pretty much, she is not allowing these children to be adopted internationally. Before she came back such adoptions were happening but not since she has officially come back in power in March 1, 2008. With our dossier being submitted just one month from now, we need to figure something out, as our dossier will be rejected just based on our Petition To Adopt requesting a child in foster care.

I just had a major melt down and cried out to the Lord. I bawled my eyes out and pleaded that “Flower” would not be taken from us again, I can’t bear the thought. I don’t believe that is God’s plan; I believe He has spoken quite clearly many, many times that she will come home to us forever. I begged for a word from Him... SOMETHING.

I opened my Bible. I don’t have scripture memorized (though I’d like to). I am still a new believer with so much to learn. I thought I would open to the book of Psalm and perhaps I would find a prayer to send up to my Lord. I opened right to Psalm 146. I just felt drawn to it and began to read instead of search for another. If you are not familiar (like me), here is what is says (the emphasis is mine):

    1 Praise the Lord!

Let all that I am praise the Lord.
2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live.
I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.

    3 Don’t put your confidence in powerful people;
there is no help for you there.
4 When they breathe their last, they return to the earth,
and all their plans die with them.
5 But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
6 He made heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them.
      He keeps every promise forever.
7 He gives justice to the oppressed

      and food to the hungry.
   The Lord frees the prisoners.
8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down.
      The Lord loves the godly.
9 The Lord protects the foreigners among us.
He cares for the orphans and widows,
but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

10 The Lord will reign forever.
He will be your God, O Jerusalem, throughout the generations.

   Praise the Lord!

Please don’t stop praying now! I’m believing God!

Keep praying. Just because things are one way doesn't mean that things could be another way for you guys. We haven't gotten word on a submission date but I am praying that one day we are told that our dossier has been submitted. It won't make sense, but if it happens it will be because of God. God does things that are miraculous and so he can make the adoption of Flower happen! What about the other two girls you are thinking of adopting?

Michelle!
Is there any way that the director of the internat/detsky dome, can have her placed back in the orphanage - or can the foster family? I'll do my best praying - but that was my best thought at the moment. Or, is there any way to find her a "legal" guardian that would take her in until you can bring her home? I know a gal named Kelly, who did something similar - found a guardian - to keep her son... Just my thoughts! I am glad that you FINALLY got a submission date! WHOO HOOO to that!
Take care!

Michelle,

We love Flower so much and want to see her home. Please know that we are praying for your family as you enter a new chapter of your journey. Our story is much the same. We received a date to go get our little man, only to find three days later that his mom was coming to take him home after 4 years of little to no contact. We followed the Lord because HE said to go to Ukraine and came home with an amazing little girl who has many special needs. Those special needs are less significant now that we are home. She is doing awesome in a loving environment! Our prayers and love are with you!
